Skiles Test concludes each season with postseason tournaments for each division between our league teams. For 2017, we are using a new double elimination bracket format with a single Championship game. The Rookie Baseball League does not compete in a tournament.
Girl's AAA and Major Softball Tournaments with three teams each will use a round-robin format, followed by an elimination bracket. Postseason games start Monday May 22nd.
Girl's AA Softball and Major League Baseball Tournaments with four teams each will use a double elimination bracket. Final seeding will be completed by May 26th. Postseason games will begine May 30th.
A League Baseball and Minor League Baseball Tournaments with six teams each will use a double elimination bracket. Final seeding will be completed by May 22nd. Postseason games will begine May 30th.
For all leagues, tournament seeding is determined by qualifing regular season games. A few leagues had early season exhibition games and interleague games with other area leagues that do not count towards the standings.
Current Standings: www.skilestest.com/Teams/Standings
Tournament games are played for the full duration and cannot end in a tie. Time limits are not used; however, mercy rules are still enforced. Some divisions have rule changes for tournament games, so please review the rules. www.skilestest.com/Site/More/Documents
The double elimination format will be used for the bracket, but will not be used for the Championship Game. Once the teams competing for the championship are determined, there will be a single Championship game to determine the winner.
Home and away will be determined by regular season seeding for the main bracket, the higher seed will be the home team. Home and away is predetermined for round robin games. Home and away for all looser bracket games will be determined by a coin flip. The team with no loses will be the home team for the championship game.
** Note: The A League Baseball and Minor League Baseball tournaments, each with six teams, will use a double elimination format that works better with our weekly schedule and field availability. As a result, the elimination bracket will begin once two teams have loss; those teams will play on the first Saturday of the tournament, June 3rd. The SI Play system does not allow us to manage the tournament in this way and will show that the elimination round begining after there are four teams with losses. All games will still appear on team schedules correctly.
