Players should be dressed in their uniforms for the event; however, if you do not play immediatley following the ceremonies cleats are not required and shorts are acceptable. We will be taking candid photos for our website and social media, so we hope to see a lot of smiling faces to remembered for years to come.
Please drop you child off with their coach in the area near the infield of Steven Westhoff (Minor League) Field. Parents should leave their players with their team and coach and gather in the grass outfield of Steven Westhoff (Minor League) Field within the fence of the field to watch the event. Opening Ceremonies are a great photo opportunity and enjoyed by parents, grandparents, and close friends. Invite everyone to help kick off the season.
All normal parking will be available except along the left field fence of Frost Field where teams will be assembling. Parking will fill up fast, so use all the spaces available; avoid parking on the grass if the ground is saturated from rain as cars have gotten stuck in the past. The bus parking area in the front of the school can be used, but don't use the bus lines, please park as dense as possible to leave room for others. Parking is also available on neighboring streets, but please observe all posted signs. Allow yourself time to park and get your player to their team and find a spot in the outfield to enjoy the event.
In the event that the weather does not allow the day's activities to proceed, the following day, Sunday April 22nd will be used in contingency. In that case, for the most part activities will be pushed back to start at 1:15pm (arrive at 1:00pm) on Sunday; a full schedule of games will be determined following only if a postponment is required on Saturday.
It takes big crew of volunteers to get to this event in the season. Our families, coaches, volunteers, and board spend countless hours and work throughout the year to make each season at Skiles Test Youth Baseball and Softball something to remember.
...and now... Play Ball!
